Location: Lehi, UT; On-site

About Reef:

Reef is a Utah-based vertically integrated investment and development firm founded in 2005. Reef's team is currently involved in some of the most prominent development transactions in Utah and other targeted geographies across the United States.

Built on two decades of success, our investment approach combines proven expertise with purposeful innovation. Reef's team has completed more than 500 transactions across all lines of business. In addition to our real estate investment strategy, Reef and/or affiliates own and operate various businesses that add significant long-term value to its projects. We have grown rapidly, growing from about 25 employees to well over 400, with managed assets on behalf of over 750 institutional and individual partners worldwide.

With the motto "Expect the Best," Reef's most prominent developments include Black Desert Resort, a $2 billion luxury resort in Ivins, Utah; Marcella, a luxury private golf community in Park City, Utah; Tributer Resort, Virginia's newest premier private lakeside golf destination; Cornerstone Club, a 5,000-acre residential community, private club, and resort in Telluride, Colorado; Sweetens Cove, a renowned and evolving golf destination nestled in the Tennessee Valley; and the restoration of the historic Coco Palms Resort in Wailua, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.

Our culture is defined by a shared set of principles that guide how we think, collaborate, make decisions, and pursue success together. This mindset serves as the foundation for the five principles that define how we work together: first, we are One Reef, always prioritizing the success of the whole over individual agendas; we speak candidly and respond collaboratively; we move in solidarity once a decision is made; we take full accountability for outcomes in our domain; and we refuse to settle for anything less than extraordinary. These aren't aspirational values posted on a wall. They are the behaviors we hire for, develop, reward, and exhibit each day. Candidates who thrive at Reef bring energy, ownership, and a genuine commitment to raising the bar on everything they touch.

Position Summary:

Reef is looking for an AI-forward analytics professional who turns business questions into answers people trust. You will work with leaders across real estate, hospitality, investments, and membership to define the metrics that matter, then build the dashboards and analysis yourself in Reef Analytics, our internal analytics application.

At Reef, AI isn't a side project, but instead, it's how we build. You'll drive your work from the first question to the finished dashboard, using AI agents and coding tools like Claude to get there faster than you thought possible. Work that used to take an analyst weeks takes hours here. We're looking for someone who hands work off to AI without hesitation, takes on projects bigger than anything they've tried before, and owns the result.

If you've been building with Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools, great. If you haven't yet but you're eager to work this way, and you bring strong SQL and data visualization instincts, you'll thrive here. We hold this team to a white-glove standard and you'll own the complexity and ambiguity of every request, so stakeholders, including executives, get a polished, effortless experience.

Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Partnership

Partner with stakeholders, including executives, to gather, clarify, and translate business questions into defined metrics and analytical solutions.
Own the complexity and ambiguity of data requests: ask the right questions, fill in the gaps, and deliver a finished solution rather than handing the problem back.
Deliver white-glove work: polished and easy to use, with clear communication from request to delivery and follow-through after launch.
Analyze business processes to identify key metrics, KPIs, and opportunities for data-driven improvements.

Data Definition, Modeling, and Quality

Define data elements, create and maintain data dictionaries, glossaries, and metadata to ensure consistent understanding and usage across the organization.
Design logical and conceptual data models to support reporting, analytics, and dashboard requirements.
Make sure the data behind every dashboard is accurate and consistent, validating and testing it before it ships.
Work with the Data Engineer to resolve data discrepancies and fix problems at the source.

Dashboard and Report Development

Build and maintain dashboards in Reef Analytics, our internal analytics application, using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) as your primary development partner.
Work with AI as a coding partner: review AI-generated code and queries critically, fix what does not work, and handle the parts AI cannot do alone.
Apply data visualization and dashboard design best practices so executives can read and trust what they see.
Ship through Git and GitHub pull requests with code review.
Create self-service reporting solutions that enable employees to explore data independently while adhering to governance standards.
Develop ad-hoc reports and automated recurring reports to support operational and executive decision-making.

Analytics and Insights

Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover insights, trends, patterns, and anomalies.
Provide actionable recommendations based on data findings to support business objectives.
Monitor dashboard usage and performance, iterating based on user feedback.

Data Governance and Collaboration

Support data governance initiatives, including documentation of data lineage, security classifications, and best practices.
Partner with the Data Engineer on integration projects and pipeline enhancements to improve data availability for analysis.
Train and support end-users on dashboard tools and data interpretation.

Project Management and Delivery

Scope, break down, and track work in Jira: clear tickets, acceptance criteria, and priorities for both people and AI agents.
Manage a portfolio of stakeholder requests: set expectations, sequence the work, and keep stakeholders informed through delivery.
Turn ambiguous requests into well-defined specs that AI agents can build against, then verify the result.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or related fields.
3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role (experience in data engineering tasks is a plus).
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Experience building dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or a similar BI tool, with a strong grasp of data visualization and dashboard design.
Solid knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating data; experience with Snowflake SQL is highly desirable.
Familiarity with enterprise applications such as Salesforce, Microsoft 365, HubSpot, and data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS S3, data lakes like Microsoft Fabric).
Experience in data modeling, creating data dictionaries, and defining business metrics.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and business audiences.
Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment.
Familiarity with project management basics (e.g., Kanban, Agile/Scrum, Waterfall) and tools like Jira.
Experience with FinOps or spend analysis (cloud, software, or AI usage costs), directly supporting an executive, and hands-on experience with ETL processes and tools (e.g., Power Query, SQL-based transformations, or integration platforms) are all considered nice to have

Company Benefits:

401(k) Plan with Company Match
Generous Health Plan with HSA Match
Flexible Paid Time-off
Daily Company Lunches
Cell Phone Service Allowance
Discounts at Company-owned Resorts and Golf Courses
