Onsite personnel collaborate across departments to maintain reliable and secure technology systems, improve operational efficiency, protect community information, and support the Association’s operational priorities.
Role Summary
The Technology Manager is responsible for the reliability, security, administration, and continuous improvement of technology systems supporting community operations and resident services. This hands-on role oversees hardware, software, networks, servers, user support, and technology initiatives; works closely with the General Manager (LCAM), department leaders, RealManage IT, and external service providers; and ensures technology supports efficient operations and positive resident experience. The position supervises Technology Staff and is primarily onsite.
The ideal candidate brings a practical, service-oriented approach to technology management, prioritizing simplified systems, secure and reliable operations, clear communication, and accessible technology solutions that enhance the resident experience and organizational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- IT Infrastructure, Network & Systems Administration
- Plan, implement, administer, and maintain onsite computer systems, servers, workstations, network equipment, and associated infrastructure.
- Oversee wired and wireless networks, routers, switches, access points, VPN connectivity, IP addressing, DNS, domains, and related services.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot operating systems, applications, device drivers, firmware, and approved technology upgrades.
- Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and reliability; proactively identify issues and coordinate timely resolution.
- Inventory and maintain accurate records of all technology systems, hardware, software, licenses, warranties, service contracts, and assets inherited from both management companies; develop a phased consolidation roadmap and lifecycle plan.
User Support & Service Delivery
- Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for technology requests, incidents, and service needs across Association departments.
- Provide first- and second-level technical troubleshooting, with escalation and coordination of complex issues with RealManage IT or qualified vendors.
- Administer approved user onboarding, offboarding, access changes, account setup, and workstation configuration in coordination with appropriate leadership.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications and administration, Windows environments, Active Directory, and approved collaboration tools and/or coordinate with Corporate IT.
- Operate a documented staff IT help desk for software, hardware, access, and service requests; prioritize, track, resolve, and communicate issues and coordinate a resident technology-help offering at the concierge desk.
- Provide practical training and guidance to employees on technology tools, appropriate use, and basic cybersecurity awareness.
Cybersecurity, Data Protection & Business Continuity
- Oversee cybersecurity, data protection, system backups, access rights, and resident information privacy in coordination with RealManage Corporate IT and applicable policies.
- Implement and monitor approved security controls, including multifactor authentication, endpoint protection, software updates, and access management.
- Maintain backup and recovery procedures, coordinate restoration testing, and support business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
- Identify, document, and promptly escalate cybersecurity risks, suspected breaches, vulnerabilities, and system disruptions.
- Maintain accurate security documentation, user access records, and compliance with applicable privacy, data retention, and technology policies.
Platform Consolidation, Integration & Reporting
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement approved core platforms, including the resident portal/app, work orders, registrations and ticketing, accounting integration, and access control, in coordination with Corporate IT and responsible departments.
- Develop dependable data integrations and accessible KPI dashboards so Finance and department managers can review performance without manually assembling information from multiple spreadsheets.
- Standardize technology workflows, prioritize intuitive resident and staff experiences, and reduce redundant platforms while maintaining appropriate security and data controls.
Technology Projects, Planning & Vendor Coordination
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor IT initiatives, installations, migrations, system improvements, and approved technology projects from scoping through implementation.
- Manage the technology operating budget and capital recommendations; evaluate needs, monitor expenditures, and recommend cost-effective consolidation and improvements in coordination with the General Manager (LCAM) and RealManage Corporate IT.
- Manage technology vendors, service contracts, internet and telecommunications providers, performance expectations, renewals, and issue resolution within delegated authority.
- Review proposed purchases and upgrades for compatibility, security, cost effectiveness, ongoing support requirements, and operational impact.
- Maintain project timelines, documentation, status updates, and follow-through on commitments and deliverables.
Community Operations, Board Support & Communication
- Partner with Facilities, Events Manager, Fitness & Wellness, Housekeeping, and Back Office teams to support the technology essential to their daily operations.
- Manage network and Wi-Fi reliability, event-space audiovisual systems, and security/camera and access-control technology in collaboration with Facilities and appropriate service providers.
- Provide clear, nontechnical updates and recommendations to the General Manager (LCAM), management team, Board of Directors, and designated committees as requested.
- Maintain professional working relationships with staff, residents, Board members, and vendors while protecting confidential information and respecting established communication protocols.
- Attend Board or committee meetings when technology matters require participation, including occasional evening meetings.
Leadership, Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
