Senior Software Engineer

About the company Our client is a fast-growing technology company. The role Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. A hands-on senior engineer who builds and ships AI-driven software systems, sets technical direction alongside engineering leadership, and guides a team of junior engineers. The work spans core platform development, packaging software for customer-hosted deployments, and turning customer feedback into product improvements. What you'll do

• Build and improve core services and runtime components in Python.
• Turn loosely defined problems into working AI-driven systems, then refine them using evaluation data, traces and telemetry.
• Package and deploy software in containers for customer-hosted environments.
• Lead a quick-moving group of junior engineers by identifying where work stalls, ranking tasks and making design choices alongside engineering leadership.
• Work with field-facing engineers to turn customer learnings into product changes.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• Six or more years of software engineering experience, or four or more for ground-floor founding engineers and founders.
• Track record of putting a modern AI agent or LLM-based product into production from start to finish.
• Experience leading an engineering team or a major project, ideally at a startup.
• Strong backend and infrastructure depth across Linux, Unix, containers, networking and storage.
• Strong Python skills.
• Solid grounding in distributed architecture, performance tuning and handling data at scale.
• Has designed large system structures for server-side or infrastructure work, ideally while on an early company's leadership team.
• Engineering degree in computer science, electrical engineering or electrical and computer engineering from a highly ranked engineering school. Bonus points
• Hands-on experience with post-training methods for language models, such as reinforcement learning from human feedback, preference optimization or reinforcement learning for agents.
• Experience with TypeScript, Rust, C++ or Go.
