Platform Engineer

About the company Our client is a fast-growing software company. The role Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Act as the founding member of a platform function spanning infrastructure, DevOps and security. Partner closely with technical leadership to shape strategy, modernize older systems and create internal tooling, with a path toward managing a team as the engineering group expands. What you'll do

• Establish the platform function from scratch, defining its processes, policies and tooling.
• Move older infrastructure onto modern cloud systems and reinforce the cloud architecture in the early months.
• Run and streamline the company's security and compliance program, including audit readiness, AI usage policies and incident handling.
• Improve release automation, internal developer tooling and deployment processes so engineers can ship faster.
• Coach leadership on security practices and encourage a security-minded culture across engineering.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• Around 6 or more years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps or security engineering.
• Background building security infrastructure at a B2B SaaS company in a regulated industry, either at a startup or a fast-moving, well-regarded technology company.
• Deep hands-on AWS experience.
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines and working with monitoring and observability tools.
• Application security expertise, including authentication, data protection and vulnerability management.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a hands-on, high-ownership working style. Bonus points
• Experience standing up security infrastructure from zero to one.
• Experience running SOC 2 compliance processes in production.
