Original job description

About the company Our client is a law firm. The role Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own a busy docket of injury claims from first contact to final outcome, covering case planning, courtroom work and client communication. Compensation is tied to results, and the position offers room to build a personal litigation practice within a collaborative team. What you'll do

  • Carry a large docket of injury matters from initial intake through to resolution.
  • Plan and execute litigation approaches against insurers.
  • Take and defend depositions, prepare and argue motions, and appear in court for clients.
  • Run your own practice and drive the results of your cases.
  • Partner with case managers, paralegals and operations colleagues so clients receive attentive service throughout.
  • Contribute alongside senior partners and fellow attorneys to the firm's continued growth.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Current admission to the California bar, in good standing.
  • A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Background in personal injury litigation, from either side of the table, with about 1 to 9 years in practice; pre-litigation attorneys eager to move into litigation are welcome.
  • Hands-on exposure to depositions, motions or case planning, or evident readiness to grow into those duties.
  • Working command of core injury law concepts, such as filing deadlines, fault theories and how damages are valued.
  • Ability to manage many client relationships and map out strategy across a heavy docket.
  • Confident negotiating with claims adjusters and opposing lawyers.
  • A kind, collegial attitude that respects paralegals and support staff as peers.
  • A warm, client-focused demeanor and a motivated drive to grow your book and earn on production.
  • Sincere long-term commitment to plaintiff-side injury work.
  • Willingness to work on-site full time from the first day.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Bonus points

  • Prior insurance-defense experience that gives insight into how carriers operate.
  • Pre-litigation attorney with 2 or more years of injury experience looking to step into litigation.
