Infrastructure Engineer

About the company Our client is a software company. The role Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Build, run and support dependable services for a software platform deployed in customer environments. Partner with field and product engineers on design, automation and production support, including a share of on-call coverage. What you'll do

• Run and support deployed software, covering health monitoring, alerts, settings management and version upgrades.
• Roll out new products at customer sites and move existing deployments onto newer infrastructure.
• Investigate and tune services and underlying infrastructure so they stay stable and can grow over time.
• Replace repetitive manual work with automation, scripts and runbooks.
• Diagnose production incidents and restore service quickly with limited disruption.
• Join a rotating on-call support schedule.
• Work with field and product teams on sound, scalable system design.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• Strong Java skills.
• Current U.S. security clearance at Secret level or above; clearances that are lapsed, expired or still in process do not qualify.
• Experience shipping and running production systems, not only troubleshooting them.
• Comfort solving coding problems in real time and structuring a problem into logical steps.
• Hands-on production experience with containers and orchestration platforms.
• Experience in defense technology or another technically demanding organization.
• A bachelor's-level degree in computer science, computer engineering or a closely related field, with solid grounding in the fundamentals.
• No interview with the company in the past 12 months.

Bonus points

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools or CI/CD pipelines.
• Degree from a highly ranked university.
