Founding Product Engineer

About the company Our client is a fast-growing cybersecurity company. The role Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Serve as the first product-focused engineer on a small team, shaping the visual design and usability of a web application and how well it serves its users. Work mainly on frontend interfaces while also spending time with clients during trials and rollouts. Help establish product and design standards as the team expands. What you'll do

• Lead a redesign of the application's interface and core user flows so every feature is intuitive for its users.
• Put most of your hours, roughly 70%, into shipping features, primarily frontend code across several core product areas.
• Reserve around 30% of your schedule for hands-on work with clients during trial periods and rollouts, showing them how to use the product well.
• Translate what users say into concrete design choices and deliver fixes and enhancements at a rapid pace.
• Establish quality expectations for product and design work as a compact team expands.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• 3 or more years of engineering experience.
• Recent hands-on experience building browser-based interfaces, with framework choice open.
• Experience shipping user-facing features, not only backend, infrastructure, platform or test work.
• Strong product intuition and comfort speaking with customers.
• Proof of design work, such as screens or flows you created yourself, a role blending design and engineering, a body of design work you can show, or a prior interface overhaul.
• Prior product engineering work at a fast-paced software firm with a reputation for rapid releases, not only at large corporations.
