Forward Deployed Engineer

About the company Our client is a software company. The role Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. This role combines hands-on engineering with direct, day-to-day work alongside the people who rely on the systems being built. You will take a technical project from first build through to production use, creating language model workflows, retrieval pipelines and agent configurations, and you will shape each solution around the practical needs that surface during delivery. What you'll do

• Design and deploy language model workflows and retrieval-based pipelines.
• Configure autonomous AI agents for specific operational tasks.
• Work directly with customers to scope their needs and turn them into working technical solutions.
• Take responsibility for delivery of each engagement, from initial build through to production use.
• Travel to customer sites as engagements require.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• Experience building and shipping AI systems that real users rely on in production, such as language model workflows, retrieval pipelines, agents or data integrations, rather than prototypes or demos.
• A background in close, hands-on work with end users, such as customer-facing engineering or time spent at a young company shipping alongside its first users. Bonus points
• A strong public portfolio or code repository presence.
• Experience with computer vision or model fine-tuning.
• Background in building end-user applications from front to back, including the groundwork of gathering and tidying source data.
