Backend Software Engineer

About the company Our client is a fast-growing financial technology company. The role Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the backend services that handle payment flows and identity checks as a product moves into live production use. The work covers security, reliability, compliance controls and performance, with an emphasis on correctness and recoverability. What you'll do

• Build protective controls into the code itself, keeping sensitive card data scope small and covering credentials, permissions, activity records and attack analysis.
• Manage cloud infrastructure as code, along with automated build and deployment pipelines, staged releases and rollback procedures.
• Ensure payment authorization, settlement and reconciliation logic is safe to retry, traceable and easy to recover.
• Set and monitor reliability targets, add instrumentation, prevent outages and write clear operational runbooks.
• Improve response times on the transaction path and reduce the cost of each transaction.
• Set architecture direction, write production code and take on-call responsibility for the systems you ship.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• Experience building backend systems that other engineers and teams rely on.
• Solid grasp of keeping operations correct when things fail, including repeat-safe requests, retries, distributed state and failure modes.
• Everyday safety habits: limiting access to what is needed, handling credentials with care, keeping activity records and anticipating how a system could be attacked.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code.
• Proficiency in TypeScript or Python.
• Clear written communication about incidents, root causes and fixes.
• Availability to work roughly six days a week, Sunday through Friday.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
