Original job description
About Rapsodo
Rapsodo builds sensor-based performance technology for golf and baseball, used by everyone from weekend golfers to MLB organizations and tour players. Our golf launch monitors and software help millions of shots get measured, understood and played. Rapsodo Studios is our premium golf simulation platform. We scan real courses at high fidelity and bring them to life in 4K, with physics built to replicate real ball flight, bounce and roll, plus multiplayer play. Our goal is simple: make simulation golf so good that golfers who have never played a sim round become regulars, and the ones who already do never want to leave.
The role We're hiring a Product Manager or Senior Product Manager, Simulation, to own the Rapsodo Studios roadmap. You'll be the focal point for what Studios builds next: deciding which features, courses and game modes ship, and why. You'll live close to our players and the golf-sim community, work hand in hand with course designers, and keep a constant pulse on customer feedback and the competitive landscape. You'll partner with engineering, design and marketing to turn that insight into releases that keep golfers coming back. Engagement is our North Star, and this role owns it for Studios.
What you'll do
Own the Studios roadmap
- Define and drive the product vision, strategy and roadmap for Rapsodo Studios, from course releases to gameplay features, multiplayer and modes.
- Prioritize ruthlessly against player impact, engagement and business goals, and make the trade-offs clear to everyone involved.
- Write crisp specs and requirements, and shepherd features through our release cycle from spec to build, beta and launch.
Be the voice of the player
- Continuously review customer feedback across support tickets, app reviews, surveys, forums, social and beta programs.
- Turn that feedback into clear problem statements: find the gaps, size them, and drive fixes and improvements.
- Use product analytics to understand how golfers play, where they drop off and what brings them back.
Build community
- Be Rapsodo Studios' face in the golf-sim community: engage players on forums, Discord, Reddit and social, and close the loop on what we heard and shipped.
- Run beta and early-access programs that put new courses and features in players' hands before launch.
Work with course designers
- Partner with our internal course team and outside course designers to plan the course pipeline, set quality bars and prioritize which courses we bring to Studios.
- Help shape the tools and workflows that let designers build and ship courses faster.
Know the market
- Run ongoing competitive benchmarks against other simulation platforms on graphics, physics, course library, features, pricing and experience.
- Track trends in home and commercial golf simulation and translate them into roadmap opportunities.
The usual PM craft
- Define success metrics and KPIs for every launch, and report on results.
- Coordinate go-to-market with marketing, sales and support: release notes, launch messaging and enablement.
- Align closely with the teams behind our launch monitors, PC app, mobile app and cloud platform so Studios feels like one connected experience.
What you'll bring
- 4+ years of product management experience (7+ for Senior PM), ideally on games, simulation, sports tech or consumer software with an engaged user community.
- A track record of owning a roadmap and shipping features that measurably moved engagement or retention.
- Strong instincts for player experience: you can tell why a round feels great or why it feels off.
- Comfort working directly with communities: you enjoy reading the forums, hosting the Q&A and closing the loop.
- Data fluency: you're at home with product analytics, A/B tests and turning qualitative feedback into decisions.
- Clear, concise writing and the ability to align engineering, art, design and marketing around a decision.
- Experience working with a distributed team across time zones.
- A real passion for golf. You play, and you know what a good course and a good sim round feel like.
Nice to have
- Hands-on time with golf simulators and launch monitors, at home or in a commercial bay.
- Familiarity with game engines (Unreal or Unity), 3D course creation, terrain scanning or photogrammetry.
- Experience with multiplayer, live-ops or content-release models (seasons, events, new-content drops).
- Background with subscription or membership products.
- Experience using AI tools to speed up specs, feedback analysis and research.
What success looks like
- First 30 days: You know Studios inside out, have played every course, read the feedback backlog and met the course designers and the community's most active voices.
- First 90 days: You've published a competitive benchmark, a prioritized list of player-facing gaps, and owned the spec for your first release.
- First year: Studios engagement and membership growth are clearly up, more non-sim golfers are converting to simulation play, and the community sees its feedback showing up in what we ship.
