Original job description

Company Overview With its headquarters in Singapore and strategically placed offices across the United States, Turkiye, Japan, and Malaysia, Rapsodo represents more than just sports technology and data analytics. It stands as the clear front-runner in providing affordable, professional-grade technology for athletes aiming to enhance their performance. The company currently collaborates with partners such as The PGA of America, Golf Digest, Troon, various Major League Baseball teams, USA Baseball, and over 1000 NCAA athletic departments. Become a part of Team Rapsodo as we challenge limits and unveil endless potential, one data point and one heartwarming success story at a time. Powered by Athletes who get it, and Engineers who can do it.

About the Role We are looking for a Back-End Engineer to help build the cloud services behind Rapsodo’s products. Every swing and pitch captured by a Rapsodo device becomes data that flows through our platform to athletes and coaches, often in real time. You will build and maintain the APIs, databases, and event-driven services that power that experience, using Go, PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will ship production code early, with mentorship and code reviews from senior engineers.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of cloud-based backend applications using Go (Golang) programming language.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect solutions, and implement features that align with business needs.
Utilize PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch to design and optimize databases and data storage solutions for efficient retrieval and real-time querying.
Develop real-time applications and services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging cloud-native tools and technologies.
Implement RESTful APIs and microservices to ensure scalable and performant communication between various components of the application.
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code while following best practices for software development.
Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality and user experience.
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, suggesting innovations that enhance our backend architecture.
Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Strong hands-on experience in backend development with Go.
Experience building cloud-based applications, preferably with GCP.
Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and database design.
Experience with RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, and microservices.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Git.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools and integrating AI into the software development lifecycle.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
