Sr. Controls Engineer

Our client, a leader in the automotive manufacturing is looking for a Sr. Controls Engineer. Key qualifications include, 8+ years of automotive manufacturing, centering on controls engineering over an assortment of automated production equipment. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Relocation and bonus opportunity will be provided for the right candidate.

responsibilities:

Lead cross-functional engineering and technical teams, guiding system design, mentoring colleagues, and aligning daily operations with company values.

Program ladder logic from inception to completion, maintaining and optimizing PLC-based manufacturing, automation, and instrumentation systems.

Partner with operations and skilled trades to resolve electrical and controls issues, lead technical projects, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Generate wiring schematics and control panel layouts using AutoCAD, maintaining accurate, up-to-date plant electrical prints.

Define system control specifications, select industrial hardware and electrical components, and support MRO inventory management.

qualifications:

Focus area of responsibility: is the Weld Assembly area; including enclosed cells with Fanuc and Kuka robots, welding sub parts into finished assemblies. PLC experience, Allen-Bradley.
