Quality Engineer

job summary:

Join a growing long-standing manufacturing company as a quality engineer in San Jose, CA. This role will be responsible for analyzing trends and correcting quality issues. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of quality engineering experience in a complex manufacturing environment. This is a direct hire position with a very stable company and the opportunity to join an exciting environment that works on complex projects.

responsibilities:

• Customer Quality & Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns, managing reports, containment strategies, and long-term improvement initiatives.
• Root-Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions: Lead formal investigation methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) to resolve internal, supplier, and customer non-conformances.
• Process Quality & Advanced Quality Planning (APQP): Develop, update, and maintain critical manufacturing quality documentation, including PFMEAs, MSAs, Control Plans, Capability Studies, and PPAP packages.
• Proactive Quality & Risk Mitigation: Analyze production system data to identify failure modes and implement proactive preventive actions before issues impact production.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary teams to evaluate active and completed project performance, driving system-wide QMS and operational enhancements.
• QMS Continuous Improvement: Maintain and improve Quality Management System documentation, including core procedures, forms, and work instructions.

3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a complex manufacturing environment
