Purchasing Specialist

salary: $28 - $29 per hour shift: First work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all procurement activities for materials, parts, equipment, and commodities from requisition through on-time delivery.
• Plan order sequences and evaluate technical specifications, delivery timelines, and preferred supplier options to align with operational schedules.
• Solicit and analyze vendor proposals, conduct interviews, and vet potential suppliers to verify capability, quality, and compliance.
• Advise management and cross-functional teams on supplier selection and sourcing strategies.
• Negotiate favorable pricing and terms while safeguarding product quality, lead times, and scheduling commitments.
• Issue purchase orders and execute supply contracts in full compliance with company standards and statutory/governmental regulations.
• Monitor open orders to ensure deliverables meet rigorous quality standards, arrive on schedule, and align with contracted pricing.
• Oversee PO amendments, order confirmations, shipping notices, and compliance records to ensure audit readiness.
• Establish and monitor cost-effective distribution methods to route materials efficiently within the organization.
