Painter

In a custom electrical UL panel shop and metal fabrication facility, painters are responsible for prepping and finishing custom electrical enclosures, switchboards, panelboards, and motor control centers. Their day-to-day duties involve preparing metal surfaces through sanding, deburring, and degreasing, masking sensitive components, mixing coatings, and applying industrial primers and finish paints (or powder coatings) to meet NEMA-rated standards for indoor, outdoor, and hazardous locations. They ensure all metal housings, doors, and frames receive a uniform, corrosion-resistant finish that meets strict quality control specifications before the electrical assemblies are wired and shipped out.

salary: $35,000 - $43,680 per year shift: First work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM education: High School
