Forklift Operator

We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious Forklift Operator / Material Handler to assist with a short-term warehouse project lasting a few weeks. In this role, you will safely move raw materials, operate material handling equipment, stage inventory, and load/unload trucks to keep facility operations running efficiently.

salary: $21 - $23 per hour shift: First work hours: 6 AM - 3 PM education: No Degree Required

Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation:
• Drive fork trucks safely through the plant to transport raw materials, metal sheets, plates, and skids to designated work centers and rack locations.
• Operate overhead cranes and safe rigging to transfer metal stock from saw cutting machines to packaging areas.
• Retrieve metal material from plate racks and feed work orders to production operators.
• Material Handling & Shipping/Receiving:
• Load and unload flatbed trailers and freight delivery trucks.
• Pull, stage, and pack orders according to customer specifications, packing lists, and Bills of Lading (BOL).
• Conduct dock audits to verify item accuracy, dimensions, and quantities before final shipment.
• Obtain required carrier signatures and verify driver identities.
• Inventory & Quality Control:
• Perform daily inventory cycle counts and verify stock tag numbers against system logs.
• Inspect incoming raw metal stock and use tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, tape measures) to verify gauge and dimensions.
• Log job tracking and material entries using computer data terminals.

The essential functions of this role include:
