Dispatcher

The Dispatcher is responsible for overseeing and documenting the pickup and delivery of local shipments, as well as coordinating and communicating shipment information between drivers, delivery agents and customers. Ideal canddiate will have strong geographic, mapping skills, sense of direction and coordination to build routes.Great interpersonal and communication skills with customers, drivers, and co-workers - communication is key! DIfferent shifts available. Possible temp to hire. This role in Tuesday - Saturday

salary: $21 - $21.5 per hour shift: First work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM education: No Degree Required

Responsibilities

• Responsible for routing local freight, dispatching drivers, performing dock checks, tracking shipments, working with dock staff members to ensure movement of freight.
• Timely event data entry of shipment milestones into internal system & AS400 tracking system – pickup, delivery, obtain proof of delivery.
• Provide customer service to identify and meet specific customer needs. Answer/make customer inquiry calls and address customer concerns/complaints.
• Assign driver load planning based on local mapping & appointments accordingly.
• Identifying and coordinating the prioritization of rushed/urgent/last minute shipments.
• Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary.
