CNC Machinist

We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join our production team on the 2nd Shift. The ideal candidate brings extensive precision machining experience - preferably within the aerospace sector - and possesses the technical acumen to set up, operate, and troubleshoot multi-axis CNC lathes while maintaining tight tolerances.

salary: $52,000 - $86,000 per year shift: Second work hours: 3 PM - 1:20 AM education: High School

Responsibilities

• Setup & Operation: Set up and operate 3- to 5-axis CNC Lathes with live tooling/milling capabilities. Operate multiple machines simultaneously as workflow demands.
• Program Management: Load CNC programs via machine controllers or file servers; execute minor program edits and offsets when necessary.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Review engineering drawings, blueprints, process sheets, and job travelers to verify tooling requirements, setup sequences, and dimensional tolerances.
• Quality & Inspection: Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) on all new setups and conduct continuous in-process quality checks using precision hand tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges).
• Efficiency Standards: Meet established setup and cycle-time benchmarks while minimizing scrap and rework.
• Workplace Standards: Uphold strict 5S principles to maintain a clean, organized, and safe machine cell.
• Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Support supervisory and quality assurance initiatives to advance continuous improvement across the shop floor.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 6 hours at one time
• working up to 6 hrs of overtime per week
