Accounts Payable Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client's growing finance team in Irvine, CA. In this role, you will take ownership of the day-to-day accounts payable cycle, supporting the department with accurate invoice processing, vendor disbursements, and month-end closing activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to expand their skill set within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

salary: $25 - $29 per hour shift: First work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM education: High School

Responsibilities

• Review, code, and verify vendor invoices, requisitions, and shipping documents to ensure accurate 3-way matching and cost-center allocation.
• Process domestic and international disbursements - including checks, wire transfers, ACH, and petty cash - while capturing vendor discounts and resolving billing discrepancies.
• Audit and process employee expense reports and cash advances in compliance with company policies.
• Reconcile weekly vendor statements, resolve documentation disputes, and maintain organized AP archives and tax records (W-9/Federal ID).
• Prepare AP-related journal entries, accruals, prepaid schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations to support timely month-end closes.
• Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions, affiliate billings, and chargebacks.
• Maintain strict financial confidentiality while cross-training across general accounting functions to provide operational backup.
