Pay: $18.00 – $25.00/hr | Type: Full-Time, In-Person

Matthews Company is hiring a Saw Operator to run industrial bandsaws, precision-cut structural steel, and operate overhead cranes.

Key Duties & Requirements:

• Set up, measure, and precision-cut steel workpieces
• Move steel bundles safely with an overhead crane
• Perform basic tool/machine maintenance
• Ability to read a tape measure, lift heavy materials, and work 40+ hrs/week
• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Position Summary Operating a large industrial bandsaw. Precision cutting structural steel members trailer manufacturing. Safely moving steel bundles with overhead crane.

· Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, template, or fixture.

· Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with fixture, die, or blade.

· Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.

· Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.

· Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
