Description

RAM Aerospace has been powering flight and space exploration since 1975, delivering precision solenoids, valves, actuators, LVDTs, and RVDTs for commercial, defense, and space applications. Operating from facilities in St. George, Utah and Valencia, California, we build mission-critical components that the world's leading aerospace programs depend on. Join a team that builds the future of aerospace, on time, with excellence. Your career takes off here!

RAM Aerospace builds mission-critical hardware, and the software behind our operations deserves the same level of craftsmanship. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will build new web-based software in TypeScript, deployed with Docker, while keeping our existing Python programs healthy, maintained, and integrated with what comes next. You will work across both worlds, designing new applications from the database up and extending the Python tooling that continues to serve its purpose. We follow Robert C. Martin's Clean Code as our methodology, and we want engineers who genuinely believe in it, not just tolerate it. If you take pride in readable, well-tested code and want a hand in shaping how our engineering practices grow, this role is built for you.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Full Stack Application Development: Design and build new full stack web applications using TypeScript across the stack, on both the client and the server.
  • Python Program Maintenance: Maintain and extend our existing Python programs as needed, keeping them healthy and integrated with our newer TypeScript applications.
  • Containerized Services: Develop and maintain containerized services deployed via Docker.
  • Data Modeling & MySQL: Design and work with MySQL schemas, queries, and data models that support our applications.
  • Clean Code & Quality: Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following Clean Code principles, and hold the codebase to that standard.
  • Architecture & Code Review: Collaborate with the team on architecture decisions and code reviews.
  • Engineering Practices: Contribute to establishing engineering practices and conventions as the team grows.

Requirements

  • Legal: Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening.
  • ITAR: Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum (due to ITAR requirements).
  • Experience building full stack web applications, with TypeScript or JavaScript on both the client and the server.
  • Working proficiency in Python, with the ability to maintain and extend existing programs.
  • Solid experience with MySQL or a comparable relational database.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
  • A genuine commitment to clean code principles. We follow Clean Code as our methodology, and we want engineers who believe in it, not just tolerate it.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working across two languages and codebases.
  • Experience maintaining mixed-language codebases is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
  • Testing discipline is a plus, including unit and integration testing and the judgment to know what's worth testing.
