Original job description

The Senior Program Manager, Nova Implementation plays a vital strategic and operational leadership role within Project Nova, Quest Diagnostics’ enterprise-wide business transformation initiative. This individual serves as an integral member of the Nova Leadership Team, responsible for orchestrating the execution, readiness, and operational rollout of Epic Applications across business, clinical, and laboratory workflows. The Senior Program Manager leads and facilitates critical governance forums including management coordinating workgroups and partners closely with functional leaders, technical build teams, regional laboratory operations, and site leaders. Acting as a strategic escalation point and high-impact problem solver, this role actively identifies unblocks, and resolves operational bottlenecks and complex dependencies. In addition, the Senior Program Manager serves as a senior change management advisor, driving stakeholder engagement, adoption, and process optimization to achieve value-driven Go-Lives without business and client disruption.

  • Serve as an active member of the Nova Leadership Team, contributing to strategic program decision making, milestone tracking, and program wide policy alignment.
  • Partner with cross-functional leadership to define site-readiness criteria, cutover strategies, support frameworks, and operational handover protocols.
  • Plan, lead, and facilitate senior leadership, operational council and workgroup meetings, establishing structured agendas, driving accountability, tracking action items, and securing leadership alignment.
  • Bridge strategic program objectives with ground-level operational reality, ensuring cross-functional clarity across IT, laboratory operations, commercial teams, compliance, and lab leadership.
  • Serve as the dedicated escalation point for Epic application teams and workgroups dealing with cross-functional, technical, or resource-driven roadblocks.
  • Diagnose root causes of project delays, design bottlenecks, and interdependency conflicts; orchestrate rapid-response alignment sessions to deliver pragmatic, sustainable solutions.
  • Monitor critical project key performance indicators (KPIs), risk logs, and issue trackers, proactively mitigating risks before they jeopardize Go-Live timelines or operational continuity.
  • Act as a change champion and senior resource for change management strategy across laboratories and client migration.
  • Partner with organizational change management, training, and internal communications to ensure operational readiness, sponsor coalition alignment, and robust stakeholder feedback loops.
  • Facilitate leadership coaching and change enablement for frontline managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Super Users, and operational teams navigating significant workflow transitions.

Required Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive healthcare operations, healthcare IT, or clinical management experience.
  • Direct hands-on leadership experience in at least 3 major, large-scale Epic enterprise implementations (multi-facility, complex academic, regional laboratory, or ambulatory/acute networks).
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years in program leadership management, or senior workgroup facilitation capacity.

Preferred Work Experience:

  • Experience within clinical diagnostics, anatomic pathology, hospital laboratory operations, or high-volume reference laboratories (e.g., Epic Beaker, Resolute, MyChart etc.)
  • Direct experience leading transformation programs within highly regulated environments (CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, FDA).
  • Experience using AI for personal and system productivity gains including using AI agents
  • Familiarity and experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) for project management
