Overview
Are you a Salesforce architect who sees beyond individual applications and thinks about how platforms, data, integrations, security, and customer experiences fit together? Are you someone people consult when technology decisions aren't straightforward? Do you ask questions before prescribing solutions? Can you effectively bring together developers, Salesforce specialists, integration engineers, security professionals, business partners, vendors, and leaders who may see a problem differently and help them reach a sound, sustainable decision?
Quartz is seeking an experienced Application Architect with deep Salesforce and enterprise integration expertise to provide architectural leadership for a critical portfolio that includes Salesforce Sales Cloud, MuleSoft, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and, as applicable, Salesforce Data Cloud.
You do not need to be the hands-on technical expert in every product within the Salesforce ecosystem. We are looking for someone with deep Salesforce architecture experience and strong integration expertise who can see the bigger picture, set architectural direction, make thoughtful technology decisions, and effectively guide developers, administrators, integration specialists, vendors, and other technical experts.
In this role, you'll help define how our Salesforce ecosystem evolves while ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, integrated, supportable, and aligned with Quartz's broader technology strategy and business needs.
Benefits:
- Highly influential architecture role, with a future-focused vision – thinking beyond whether a solution can be built, and considering how solutions will scale, integrate, stay secure, can be supported, and how it fits into the long-term technology strategy of the organization
- Solve complex problems, challenge assumptions, balance competing priorities, and turn business needs into sustainable technology solutions
- Oversee cross-functional initiatives with long-term organizational impact
- Starting salary, based on skills & experience: $101,000-126,000 plus robust benefits package
Responsibilities
- Lead Salesforce application architecture. Define and evolve the architecture, standards, patterns, and technical roadmap for Salesforce Core CRM and its broader application ecosystem.
- Design connected enterprise solutions. Guide how Salesforce integrates with other applications, platforms, and data sources using MuleSoft, APIs, event-driven architecture, batch processing, and other appropriate integration patterns.
- Provide architectural oversight for adjacent platforms. Guide the architecture and integration of Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud while partnering with specialists who bring deeper product-level expertise.
- Establish technical standards and guardrails. Guide decisions involving configuration versus customization, security, data, integrations, performance, scalability, maintainability, and technical debt.
- Lead solution and architecture reviews. Evaluate proposed solutions, identify risks and dependencies, challenge assumptions, and recommend pragmatic approaches that balance immediate business needs with long-term architecture.
- Guide technical teams. Provide direction to developers, administrators, integration engineers, vendors, and other technology partners throughout the solution lifecycle, from design and development through testing, implementation, and production support, ensuring solutions remain aligned with architectural standards and intended outcomes.
- Influence technology strategy. Translate complex technical decisions into business impacts, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations for technical and senior business stakeholders.
- Drive modernization. Evaluate emerging Salesforce, cloud, automation, and AI capabilities and identify opportunities to simplify the application environment and improve business and customer outcomes.
- Partner across business and technology teams. Collaborate with business stakeholders, cross-functional IT teams, vendors, and technology partners to translate business needs into scalable solutions and ensure alignment across architecture, design, integration, and implementation.
