Original job description

Quantum Space is redefining mobility and maneuverability in space. Our high-mobility spacecraft platforms support national security, civil, and commercial missions with unmatched flexibility and propulsion capability. We build fast and iterate quickly.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Production Coordinator to support the build, integration, and delivery of our Ranger spacecraft platform. In this role, you will help keep production operations running efficiently by coordinating the movement of parts, materials, documentation, and production activities across multiple teams.

You will work at the intersection of manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, engineering, inventory management, and production planning - ensuring the right hardware is in the right place at the right time, supported by accurate data, documentation, and material traceability.

You will play a key role in maintaining production schedules, identifying and resolving workflow constraints, and supporting the efficient movement of flight hardware from receiving through integration and test. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment, takes ownership of details, and enjoys working across teams to keep mission-critical programs moving forward.

Where You’ll Make an Impact

  • Monitor, track, and coordinate the movement of parts and materials throughout the production lifecycle to ensure timely delivery to the appropriate work centers and production locations
  • Facilitate the physical movement of hardware through receiving inspection, inventory, purchasing, production, and other applicable work centers
  • Identify workflow bottlenecks, improve process consistency, and help reduce internal logistics lead times
  • Coordinate external processing activities, including machining, plating, testing, and other outside services, to ensure materials return on schedule
  • Collaborate with production planning, procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams to maintain accurate and reliable MRP/ERP system data
  • Identify and help resolve inaccurate inventory records, material demand signals, scheduling discrepancies, and other system issues that could disrupt production
  • Develop, maintain, and update production metrics, dashboards, and reports to support operational visibility and continuous improvement
  • Partner with production supervisors and managers to track and close metrics-driven action items and resolve production constraints
  • Prepare reports highlighting production requirements, deliverables, material availability, schedule risks, and operational constraints for internal teams and customers
  • Support production leadership and program management teams with action item tracking, status updates, and cross-functional coordination
  • Coordinate material staging, kitting, and workflow organization to improve production readiness and efficiency
  • Maintain material certifications, traceability documentation, and inventory controls to ensure only properly certified materials are used in flight hardware
  • Support production and inventory teams with return-to-stock activities, inventory reconciliation, and material disposition or purge actions
  • Assist with purchase requisition creation and coordination of scheduled contract work and outside services
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic production tooling records, documentation libraries, and calibration databases
  • Support work order creation, tracking, updates, and closure for assigned production cells
  • Participate in production process improvements and productivity initiatives to improve material flow, operational efficiency, and schedule performance
  • Help establish disciplined production coordination processes that enable Quantum Space to move quickly without compromising quality, traceability, or mission assurance

What It Takes

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience in production support, manufacturing coordination, logistics, inventory management, administrative operations, or a related role
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to coordinate materials, documentation, and production activities across multiple departments and work centers
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and other productivity tools
  • Experience maintaining accurate records, organizing documentation, and tracking operational activities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with production personnel, engineers, procurement teams, and management
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, troubleshoot operational issues, and proactively follow through on action items
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing or production environment and supporting the physical movement of materials and hardware
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and adapt to shifting production priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, iterative environment where production schedules and priorities evolve quickly

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • 3+ years of experience supporting manufacturing operations, production control, logistics coordination, or departmental administration
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience working with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, semiconductor, electronics, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with spacecraft or flight hardware manufacturing, assembly, integration, and test operations
  • Experience managing material certifications, part traceability, manufacturing records, and configuration-controlled documentation
  • Knowledge of inventory management, production scheduling, work order management, and material flow processes
  • Experience coordinating outside processing, supplier deliveries, and procurement activities
  • Experience developing production reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and supporting metrics-driven operational improvements
  • Familiarity with SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar data analysis and reporting tools
  • APICS/ASCM certification, such as Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
  • Familiarity with production tooling management, calibration tracking, and manufacturing documentation systems
  • Experience supporting lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or production efficiency initiatives
  • Experience working in a startup or small-team environment where flexibility, initiative, and cross-functional collaboration are essential

What You’ll Get

  • Ownership – Take responsibility for coordinating critical production activities and ensuring materials, documentation, and work orders are ready to support spacecraft manufacturing
  • Innovation – Support the development and production of advanced spacecraft technologies enabling next-generation space mobility, maneuverability, and defense missions
  • Impact – Play a direct role in keeping spacecraft production on schedule and ensuring mission-critical flight hardware moves efficiently from receiving through integration and test
  • Growth – Build broad operational expertise across aerospace manufacturing, supply chain, production planning, inventory management, and spacecraft integration while working alongside a multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Mission Exposure – Gain hands-on experience supporting the spacecraft production lifecycle, from initial hardware procurement and receiving through assembly, integration, testing, and launch readiness
  • Compensation – Competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, generous leave, HSA, 401(k) matching, and equity sharing
