Every moment of every day, people around the world rely on the energy they access through infrastructure built by Quanta. Comprising the largest skilled-labor force in North America, our employees are highly skilled and innovative, continually working to connect people and power. We’re building the infrastructure that supports the energy transition, and there are more opportunities than ever to be part of our team. Join us and build your career building a brighter future.

Imagine what you could do here. We encourage, inspire, and support our people to seize opportunities in our corporate office and with hundreds of our operating companies worldwide that provide solutions for the utility, renewable energy, electric power, industrial, and communications industries.

Quanta actively promotes and maintains a culture of belonging where all employees can be themselves, live their values, and find opportunities to succeed. When you join our team, you join a dynamic organization in which career development is encouraged, excellence is rewarded, and diversity is prized. Come find out how our people power modern life.

About this Role

Platform Engineering builds and operates the internal platforms Quanta’s IT Transformation runs on - self-service cloud provisioning, an AI assistant that acts as the front door to IT, and the integrations that power them. This role is a hands-on development position on the Platform Engineering team: you’ll build full-stack features, ship apps on Databricks, and extend our tooling’s AI-assisted capabilities

This is a delivery-focused role for someone comfortable moving across a full-stack surface - frontend, backend, and applied AI - without needing deep specialization in any one layer yet. You’ll work alongside senior engineers who provide context and direction, and you’re expected to carry assigned work from ticket to production with minimal hand-holding.

What You'll Do

Full-Stack Development

Build and maintain frontend features using React and Vite, working from design and product requirements to shipped UI
Develop backend services and APIs on Node.js with Fastify, including authentication, data access, and integration endpoints
Write clean, typed TypeScript/JavaScript across the stack and participate in code review
Contribute to shared component and service patterns used across PE’s internal platforms

Databricks Apps

Build and deploy applications on Databricks Apps, including data-backed workflows and internal tooling
Work with Databricks-hosted data sources and jobs to power application features

AI-Assisted Tooling

Support and extend AI-assisted features within PE’s tooling - retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, vector search, and agentic workflows
Implement and consume MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers as part of integration and tooling work
Contribute to LangGraph-based agent flows under the direction of senior engineers

DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure

Provision and manage cloud infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation, etc) supporting PE’s platforms
Build and maintain GitHub Actions workflows and contribute to CI/CD pipelines across the team’s repositories
Deploy and operate workloads on AWS; work with core services (compute, networking, IAM) in a delivery context
Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and observability for services you build
Participate in operational support for the systems you build

What You'll Bring

Education

Bachelor’s degree required (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered)

Required

2–4 years of professional software development experience
Full-stack development: TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Vite, Node.js, and Fastify (or a comparable Node framework)
Working experience with GitHub, including Git workflows and GitHub Actions
Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS preferred, including basic infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation, etc)
CI/CD pipeline experience - building, maintaining, or troubleshooting automated build and deployment pipelines
Some hands-on exposure to Databricks, or comparable data-platform experience with the ability to ramp quickly
Some exposure to AI/LLM application development - RAG, vector databases, MCP, or agent frameworks like LangGraph - with a genuine interest in growing this skill set

Behaviors

Executes assigned work to completion - raises blockers early rather than letting work stall silently
Comfortable working across a broad technical surface without deep specialization in every layer
Asks good questions and learns quickly from senior engineers
Documents what they build - code comments, READMEs, and short decision notes

Preferred

Production experience with Databricks Apps specifically, rather than just Databricks notebooks/jobs
Hands-on experience building or consuming MCP servers
Experience with vector databases or embedding-based semantic search
Familiarity with Azure as a secondary cloud
Exposure to container workflows - Docker, ECR, or Kubernetes basics

What You'll Get

Competitive compensation and benefits package
Flexible work options
Educational assistance
Wellness and mental health programs
Paid parental leave
Employee referral program
Volunteer time off
Learning and development programs
Office amenities and perks
