Original job description

At Qualtrics, we create software the world’s best brands use to deliver exceptional frontline experiences, build high-performing teams, and design products people love. But we are more than a platform - we are the creators and stewards of the Experience Management category serving over thousands of clients globally. Building a category takes grit, determination, and a disdain for convention - but most of all it requires close-knit, high-functioning teams with an unwavering dedication to serving our customers.

When you join one of our teams, you’ll be part of a nimble group that’s empowered to set aggressive goals and move fast to achieve them. Strategic risks are encouraged and complex problems are solved together, by passing the mic and iterating until the best solution comes to light. You won’t have to look to find growth opportunities - ready or not, they’ll find you. From retail to government to healthcare, we’re on a mission to bring humanity, connection, and empathy back to business. Join over 5,000 people across the globe who think that’s work worth doing.

Software Engineer I - Data Platform

Why We Have This Role

The Cerberus team builds and maintains systems that protect access, identity, and trust across the platform - standing guard at the boundary between what's allowed and what isn't. We work closely with security, infrastructure, and product teams to ship reliable, well-tested code in a fast-moving environment.

How You'll Find Success

Takes initiative on projects with clear outcomes and context, working entrepreneurially to solve problems.
Writes clean, well-tested code and understands the importance of code reviews and best practices in software development.
Collaborates effectively across functions (PM, UX, QE, and other engineering teams) and communicates clearly about progress and blockers.
Contributes to team knowledge by sharing learnings and helping others level up on new tools and approaches.
Demonstrates curiosity about the full stack, from backend systems to user-facing interfaces, and is willing to work across the entire technology spectrum.
Shows ownership of features end-to-end, driving work forward even when it requires coordination with multiple teams.

How You'll Grow

Work directly with LLMs and agentic systems, technologies that are reshaping software development and where hands-on experience is rare and valuable.
Ramp quickly on a modern tech stack (Java, Spring and other programming languages)
Grow your full-stack capabilities by working across frontend and backend systems on the same features.
Develop cross-functional collaboration skills by partnering with product, design, and other engineering teams on complex projects.

Things You'll Do

Build and ship features that leverage LLMs and agentic systems to power Qualtrics' text analytics capabilities, working across the full stack from database to UI.
Collaborate with other engineering teams in the Enrichments space to integrate your work and unblock downstream dependencies.
Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality practices that keep the codebase maintainable and reliable as the team scales.
Learn and apply new AI tooling and development practices alongside your teammates, contributing to the team's collective knowledge base.
Drive ownership of assigned projects, managing dependencies and communication with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.

What We're Looking For On Your Resume

Degree in Computer Science or related technology field
0 - 2 years of full time work experience in software development
Familiarity with software development lifecycle practices, including code reviews, testing, and collaboration with other engineers.
Experience with at least one modern programming language and willingness to learn Java, Spring and other programming languages
Some exposure to UI development is helpful but not required; the team can teach the specifics of the tech stack.
Exposure to AWS technologies
A track record of shipping features or projects, even in academic or personal projects, that demonstrates you can take work from concept to completion.

What You Should Know About This Team

We're working on projects that gate the access to customer data. What data customers have access to and what data should be returned is managed based on roles and permissions.
We are helping other teams define the new permissioning model that works as per industry standards and scales well.
We embrace an agile philosophy where we try things, learn quickly, and iterate based on what works.
We learn together as a team, sharing discoveries about operational work and customer pulses standups and weekly review
You'll work closely with PM, UX, and other engineering teams, developing the cross-functional collaboration skills that define senior engineers.

Our Team's Favorite Perks and Benefits

Access to cutting-edge AI and LLM technology, with the opportunity to work with agentic systems that are reshaping how software is built.
Competitive salary, performance bonuses, generous 401(k) Match
