Overhead Crane Operator & Steel Material Handler – 2nd Shift

Location: Cocoa Beach, FL Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire Shift: 2nd Shift Starting Pay: $22.00/hour, plus $3.00/hour shift differential. Higher base pay may be available depending on experience.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Material Handler to support steel fabrication and yard operations. This hands-on role involves moving structural steel, operating cranes and material-handling equipment, and assisting with various shop and shipping tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes to lift and move structural steel safely.

• Use forklifts and Pettibone/telehandler equipment to transport materials.

• Move, organize, and stage steel throughout the shop and yard.

• Jockey trailers, unload deliveries, and prepare materials for shipment.

• Assist with skidding, parts cleaning, and machine operation as needed.

• Help track inventory and maintain organized work areas.

• Follow equipment operating procedures and workplace safety requirements.

• Support other departments as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience operating overhead cranes is required.

• Experience with Pettibone or telehandler equipment is required.

• Familiarity with forklifts and other industrial equipment.

• Some experience handling structural steel.

• Material handling, warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial experience preferred.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to handle heavy materials and manage multiple tasks.

• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
