Original job description

The physical world generates an extraordinary amount of data, yet most of what happens inside manufacturing and logistics sites remains invisible to the systems that run them.

At Protex AI, we're changing that.

We're building Site Intelligence, an AI platform that connects cameras, enterprise systems and operational knowledge to give businesses a real-time understanding of what's happening across their operations.

Our computer vision technology transforms video into structured operational data, while AI agents turn that data into insights, investigations and actions. We're helping some of the world's largest enterprises improve safety, eliminate inefficiencies and increase productivity.

We've built a strong foundation in safety. Now we're expanding into a much bigger opportunity: using AI to fundamentally change how industrial operations are understood, managed and optimised.

Interested in creating a new category with us? We're looking for high-agency people who thrive in ambiguity, move quickly and care deeply about solving real problems.

You’ll lead Protex AI’s growing BDR team, creating pipeline for our Enterprise Account Executives across global markets. Your team is based in the US and covers time zones around the world. Our US commercial team has grown rapidly across sales and client success, and this role is central to the next stage of that growth. This is a full-time leadership role: you’ll lead, hire, coach and grow the team. You’ll report to our Head of Growth & Marketing.

We’re looking for a leader who understands how sales development fits into the wider commercial engine. You know what modern sales development looks like, and you use AI and automation to help a growing team achieve more than its size suggests.

We sell to the world’s largest manufacturing, logistics and warehousing companies, with customers including, PepsiCo, FedEx and General Motors. Our buyers are senior Safety and Operations leaders. Protex AI gives them the site intelligence to run smarter, safer operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead and coach our growing US BD team hands-on, with our GTM tech stack there to support you.
Build a high-trust, high-agency culture where BDRs own their results and stay motivated through the ups and downs of prospecting.
Take full ownership of the team’s pipeline targets, from meetings booked through to qualified pipeline.
Build and refine our global prospecting playbooks: target accounts, persona research, prospecting sequences, call scripts and objection handling.
Bring AI and automation into the team's workflow (account research, signal-based targeting, personalisation, call prep) and measure what it saves.
Hire and onboard new BDRs as the team scales globally, and build a clear path from BDR to AE.
Work with Enterprise AEs on territory planning and handoff quality, and with Growth Marketing on campaigns and messaging.
Run the team's operating rhythm in HubSpot: forecasting, activity and conversion dashboards, pipeline reviews.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Experience in B2B SaaS sales development, including time leading BDRs/SDRs.
A strong prospecting background and a record of leading a team to its pipeline targets.
A clear point of view on how AI is changing business development, with examples of tools or workflows you’ve built, adopted or helped roll out.
A strong grasp of go-to-market: how inbound and outbound work with marketing, AEs and the wider funnel.
Experience at a company known for strong sales development practice.
Experience booking meetings with senior buyers at enterprise accounts.
Hands-on fluency with a CRM and sales engagement tools.
A coaching mindset: you make people better, and you can show us how.
Comfort with data: you diagnose a team's funnel and act on what you find.
3-5 years B2B Tech selling experience

NICE TO HAVE

Experience selling into enterprise manufacturing, logistics or warehousing, especially to EHS and operations leaders.
Experience prospecting into EMEA as well as North America.
Experience scaling a BDR team in a high-growth startup.

Please note: this role requires a hybrid working model, working from our Boston office in Summer Street two days per week.

Protex AI is an inclusive and equal opportunities employer. We are committed to creating an equitable workplace for everyone regardless of gender, civil status, family status, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, education level, or race.
