Role Overview This is an exciting opportunity to help shape how quality is built into technology at ProAg. As a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer, you’ll partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, developers, architects, DevOps, and other quality professionals to understand business outcomes, identify risks, and create maintainable automated testing solutions. You’ll use automation and practical AI capabilities to improve testing efficiency, reliability, and feedback throughout the development lifecycle. Through this work, you’ll help reduce delivery risk, improve customer experiences, and support the technology behind the people who grow America’s food, fuel, and fiber.

In this Exciting Opportunity, You Will:

  • Participate throughout the Agile software development lifecycle, helping define acceptance criteria, testability, and quality risks early, and translating business requirements and technical designs into practical test strategies, plans, scenarios, and automated checks.
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests for web applications, APIs, service-oriented architectures, and integrated business workflows using approved technologies such as Playwright or Selenium, C#, NUnit, and related tools to create reliable, reusable, and supportable solutions.
  • Apply AI-assisted tools responsibly to accelerate automated test design, code generation, refactoring, debugging, documentation, and maintenance, while validating outputs for accuracy, security, and quality.
  • Analyze test failures and operational information to isolate root causes, clearly communicate and support defects through resolution and verification, identify coverage gaps and defect trends, and improve product quality, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to provide fast, trustworthy feedback across environments, while participating in peer reviews of test code, test cases, test plans, and defects and contributing to shared engineering standards.
  • Support risk-based testing decisions that balance speed, coverage, maintainability, and business impact, while documenting automation frameworks, testing processes, tools, and workflows and continuously improving ProAg’s quality engineering strategy, frameworks, and skill-based ways of working.

What You Bring

  • Relevant professional experience in software quality assurance, automated testing, software development, or a closely related discipline, along with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Hands-on experience designing automated tests and contributing to test frameworks for modern applications and services, with experience in several of the following highly valued: C#, Python, Playwright, Selenium, NUnit, API testing, SQL, PostgreSQL, AWS, CI/CD, Azure DevOps pipelines, Page Object Model, web applications, and service-oriented architectures.
  • Strong understanding of software testing and development principles, including risk-based testing, test design, defect lifecycle management, quality throughout the SDLC, object-oriented programming, full-stack web applications, and common application integration patterns.
  • Experience testing APIs for functionality, reliability, performance, and security, with strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills to investigate complex failures and clearly explain findings.
  • Ability to estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities in Scrum, Kanban, or similar Agile delivery models, along with the ability to learn and work effectively in a technology stack or business domain that may differ from previous environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, emphasizing clarity, collaboration, confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy, combined with curiosity and a continuous-learning mindset, including an interest in applying AI and emerging technology to improve quality engineering outcomes.
