Original job description

Job title: Site Reliability Engineer Reports to: Director, Site Reliability Engineering Department: Central Services Location: Alpharetta, GA or Remote Grade: 19

About Priority:

Priority Commerce is a leading financial technology company on a mission to deliver a personalized, easy-to-adopt financial toolset that accelerates cash flow and optimizes working capital for businesses. Our vision is to eliminate the barriers to unlocking revenue - empowering businesses to grow faster and operate smarter.

We achieve this through the Priority Commerce Engine, an innovative platform that combines payables, acquiring, and banking and treasury solutions. This unified approach allows businesses to streamline financial operations, reduce unnecessary costs, and uncover new revenue opportunities.

At Priority Commerce, we're driven by results. We expect our people to be known for results - bringing expertise, momentum, and relentless focus to every challenge, helping our clients and each other thrive.

About the Role:

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will keep Priority's payment, payables and banking platforms available, fast and recoverable. You will be the dedicated SRE for a product workstream: owning its monitoring, alerting and runbooks, taking on-call, and helping lead incident response and postmortems alongside development teams and Senior SREs. This is a hands-on role for an engineer with a few years of production experience who wants to grow into owning reliability for a domain end to end.

Responsibilities:

Build and tune monitoring, dashboards and alerts; reduce alert noise and close detection gaps.
Help resolve production incidents, and lead triage of lower severity alerts.
Facilitate blameless postmortems and drive follow-up actions to closure.
Define SLIs and SLOs for critical user flows.
Write runbooks and playbooks for AI-assisted alert triage.
Automate toil through scripting, infrastructure as code and CI/CD improvements.
Support safer releases through readiness reviews, load testing and canary deployments.
Contribute to failover and disaster recovery testing.

What Success Looks Like:

Delivery & Execution: You participate in incident response, and manage post incident workflows, ensuring effective postmortems occur within SLA.
Product Quality & Reliability: Your services have SLOs, actionable alerts and current runbooks. Alert noise trends down, and detection and recovery times improve.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Engineers and monitoring teams use your dashboards and runbooks day to day, and postmortems lead to fixes rather than blame.
Business & Product Impact: Fewer incidents reach customers or affect business operations, and new features ship without losing stability.
Professional Growth: You lead at least one reliability project from design to rollout and are on a clear path toward Senior SRE.

Candidate Requirements:

Required:

3-5 years of software, systems or DevOps engineering experience, including 2+ years in SRE or production operations.
Production on-call experience, including incident response and postmortems.
Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes.
Experience building monitoring and alerting with modern observability tools.
Proficiency in a scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go, TypeScript).
Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD pipelines.
Working knowledge of Linux, networking fundamentals and relational databases.
Clear written communication.

Preferred:

Experience in payments, fintech or banking, especially PCI DSS environments.
Familiarity with Kafka or other event-driven architectures.
Experience designing SLOs and error budgets.
Experience using AI tools in operations.
Cloud or Kubernetes certifications (e.g., AWS Associate, CKA).

Work Environment & Culture:

We believe that performance and experience go hand in hand - an exceptional employee experience is earned through contribution. We are a results-driven team, grounded in our core values: ownership, authenticity, service, trust, innovation, and camaraderie. Our culture is built for those who want to make an impact. We challenge each other to grow, celebrate progress, and support one another through shared goals and real connection. Whether you're building technology, serving clients, or supporting internal teams, you’ll be part of a company that empowers you to perform at your best and be known for results.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation range: [$111k-$143k] We invest in the whole employee - personally and professionally. Our benefits package is designed to support your well-being, growth, and success - both inside and outside of work.

Financial Wellness

Bonus programs
401(k) match
Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)
HSA and FSA options
Financial wellness resources and employee discount programs

Health & Well-being

Medical, dental, and vision coverage

Gym membership reimbursement and virtual wellness programs (including yoga)

Time Off

3 weeks PTO to start, with unlimited PTO after year one

Growth & Development

Education expense reimbursement
Leadership development programs
Certified Payments Professional (CPP) certification support

We believe great performance starts with feeling supported - and we’ve built our benefits with that in mind.

Traditional Physical Requirements:

Requires prolonged sitting, standing, bending, stooping and stretching.
Requires the ability to lift 10 pounds.
Requires eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity and a normal range of hearing and vision (with or without correction).

Join our team at Priority Technology Holdings, Inc. and be part of a dynamic and innovative company that is transforming the financial technology landscape. Together, we can shape the future of payments and banking solutions while providing unmatched value to our clients.
