Maintenance Associate

Our client in Brooklyn, NY, is looking for a Maintenance Associate for a temp-to-hire role.

• Hours: Sun 10a-5p, Mon 8a-7p, Tues/Weds - off, Thurs 12p-8p, Fri 1p-7p, Sat 11a-7pm
• Pay is $17.50/hr

Position Description:This role is responsible for comprehensive facility upkeep, routine janitorial care, groundskeeping, and storage facility security:

• Janitorial & Deep Floor Care: Performs daily routine cleaning (sweeping, mopping, window washing, trash removal, and restroom sanitation/restocking) and heavy-duty floor maintenance (buffing, stripping, and waxing).
• Facility Maintenance & Inspections: Conducts basic building upkeep, including replacing HVAC filters, changing light bulbs, clearing roof drains, painting restrooms and bollards, monitoring for leaks, and assisting with incidental repairs.
• Groundskeeping & Seasonal Care: Maintains outdoor property by clearing yard debris, treating and removing weeds, and performing snow and ice removal.
• Security & Storage Operations: Inspects unit locks for proper security, cuts locks when required, cleans exterior unit doors and walls, and conducts closing walkthroughs to ensure all customers have vacated and exits are locked.
• Inventory & Record-Keeping: Logs completed maintenance tasks, tracks and restocks maintenance supplies, and reports major repair needs to management.

Requirements:

• Ideally 2 years’ custodial or self-storage experience
• Basic understanding of the English language, sufficient to read and identify labels on materials or read and comprehend simple instructions Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $17.50 - $17.50 Per Hour
