Experienced Failure Analysis Analyst Job Duties Include:

• Independently perform precision cutting, mounting, grinding, and polishing of small or delicate samples, with an emphasis on consistent surface finish and accurate target placement.
• Locate and expose specified features using drawings, photographs, sample markings, and engineer instructions; maintain sample orientation and precise polishing endpoints.
• Select suitable mounting, grinding, and polishing methods for different materials and geometries.
• Preserve sample integrity while minimizing smearing, pull-out, edge rounding, delamination, and other preparation-induced artifacts.
• Inspect prepared cross-sections using optical microscopes; recognize artifacts and determine when further polishing or rework is needed.
• Independently capture optical micrographs at appropriate magnifications, including overview and detailed images; perform basic dimensional measurements and annotate images as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Experienced Failure Analysis Analyst Preferred Skills Include:

• Experience with electronic components and assemblies is a plus.
• Experience preparing PCB/PCBAs, solder joints, vias, connectors, or semiconductor packages.
• Familiarity with vacuum impregnation.
• Familiarity with epoxy mounting.
• Familiarity with automated polishers.
• Familiarity with advanced microscopy.
• Able to provide 2 professional references

Experienced Failure Analysis Analyst Requirements may Include:

• Demonstrated hands-on professional experience with mechanical cross-sectioning, mounting, grinding, and polishing.
• Ability to accurately target small features, control polishing depth, and preserve delicate samples.
• Practical experience operating optical microscopes.
• Strong manual precision, attention to detail, documentation discipline, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Relevant laboratory or industry experience; a technical certification or degree is welcome but not required.
• Clear communication, ownership of deadlines, and effective collaboration with FA engineers.
• Go through an extensive pre-employment hiring process
• Willingness to submit to a pre-employment background check & drug screen
