Original job description
PrideStaff is seeking an experienced, hands-on Customer Service Supervisor on behalf of an established precision manufacturing company. This position is a true player-coach role designed for an experienced manufacturing customer support professional who excels at day-to-day account coordination while leading by example. In this role, you will manage your own desk - handling high-volume B2B order management, technical inquiries, and client relationships - while supervising and coaching a small team (starting with one direct report) to ensure service standards and accurate order execution.
Core Responsibilities:
- Act as a hands-on lead, managing B2B customer accounts, processing complex manufacturing orders, and resolving client questions with high responsiveness.
- Supervise, train, and mentor customer service personnel, establishing clear workflows, standard operating procedures, and daily priorities.
- Review and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, part numbers, and product specifications to address technical questions from customers and distributors.
- Utilize ERP and CRM software to track purchase orders, check inventory allocations, monitor lead times, and update pricing schedules.
- Work closely with internal production, engineering, quality, and shipping departments to expedite orders, troubleshoot delays, and resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Track customer scorecards, analyze daily order volumes, and identify opportunities to improve departmental efficiency and customer retention.
- Build and maintain spreadsheet reports using Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data filtering) to track order trends, shipments, and open backlog metrics.
What We Are Looking For:
- Strong background in manufacturing customer service, technical account management, or manufacturing order coordination is required.
- Prior experience or clear demonstrated capability in a lead, supervisory, or senior player-coach capacity.
- Demonstrated mechanical or technical aptitude, including the ability to read Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical cut sheets, or component diagrams.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing supply chain fundamentals, such as lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), inventory allocations, and production scheduling.
- Practical experience working within an enterprise ERP system (such as Syspro, SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar) alongside CRM platforms.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel for reporting and data management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable handling high daily email volume with precision.
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, technical disciplines, or equivalent years of direct manufacturing industry experience.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $77,000.00 - $83,500.00
