Lead Laser Operator Job Description:

PrideStaff is working with a manufacturing facility in search of an experienced 3rd Shift Lead Laser Operator. The Lead Laser Operator will manage laser equipment and personnel for the facility, providing direct leadership and guidance to 3rd shift laser operators to ensure the efficient and productive operation of all laser systems. This role is responsible for overseeing part quality, programming new parts, minimizing equipment downtime, and supervising pre-production builds. The ideal candidate brings strong technical laser operation experience, programming skills, and proven leadership capability. The Lead Laser Operator is a full-time, direct hire position.

Lead Laser Operator Job Responsibilities:

• Lead, Direct, & Train 3rd Shift Laser Operators on Proper Equipment Operation & Safety Procedures
• Ensure Part Quality & Tolerance Standards are Maintained Across All Production Runs
• Program All New Parts & Ensure Laser Cutting Programs are Maintained According to SOPs
• Oversee Pre-Production Builds & Validate First-Piece Part Quality
• Proactively Identify Potential Machinery Issues to Prevent Equipment Downtime
• Evaluate Production Run Rates for Obtainability & Adjust Processes or Rates as Necessary
• Collaborate with Engineering to Ensure Tooling, Nesting, & Fixtures Meet Production Standards
• Work Conjointly with Maintenance to Ensure Laser Equipment is Routinely Maintained & Operating Efficiently
• Coordinate with Production Scheduling to Optimize Larger Run Sizes & Throughput
• Maintain a Safe Work Environment by Enforcing All Plant Safety & PPE Protocols
• Perform Other Laser Department & Operational Leadership Duties as Assigned

Lead Laser Operator Job Requirements & Working Conditions:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• 3+ Years of Hands-On Experience Operating & Setting Up Industrial Laser Cutting Systems Required
• Previous Supervisory or Shift Lead Experience in a Manufacturing Environment Preferred
• Demonstrated Ability to Program Laser Equipment & Read/Interpret Complex Blueprints & Work Instructions
• Basic Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent Communication, Organizational, & Interpersonal Leadership Skills
• Strong Troubleshooting & Mechanical Problem-Solving Abilities
• Ability to Work in a Loud, Fast-Paced Industrial Warehouse & Manufacturing Environment
• Physical Ability to Walk, Stand, Reach, Stoop, Kneel, & Regularly Lift/Move up to 50 lbs
