Original job description

Remote Mid-level Full Stack .NET Web Developer

Build technology that advances the mission. Scale your career with a company powered by its people.

Precise Systems is expanding our team and seeking an experienced Mid-level Full Stack .NET Web Developer to help us deliver technology with purpose. In this fully remote role, you will design, develop, and enhance a suite of government-owned, web-based business applications used by more than 50,000 users across Navy acquisition organizations.

These applications help our customers manage complex contract portfolios and funding, ensuring the warfighter has the resources and capabilities needed to achieve the mission. At Precise, we understand that strong technology is not only about how an application performs - it is about the people, decisions, and mission it supports.

This is an opportunity to do more than maintain an existing application. You will help shape scalable solutions, solve complex technical challenges, influence architectural decisions, and advance an extensive product roadmap focused on delivering greater value, expanded capabilities, and exceptional customer experience.

Why Precise?

At Precise, our people are our greatest strength. We bring together talented professionals who are committed to our customers, connected to the mission, and invested in one another’s success. We value collaboration, innovation, integrity, and the individual contributions that move our teams and customers forward.

For more than 15 years, Precise has supported the continued growth and evolution of this enterprise application suite. You will join a collaborative, low-turnover team of more than 45 full-stack developers representing a wide range of experience levels.

Our team offers the stability of a mature program with the energy and technical challenge of continued modernization. You will work alongside experienced technical leaders and subject-matter experts who share their knowledge, welcome new ideas, and are invested in your continued growth. As a senior developer, you will also have the opportunity to influence technical direction, mentor others, and help shape the future of the application suite.

Our Technology Environment

Our current technology stack includes:
.NET Core and C#
C# Web APIs
Vue.js 3 and TypeScript
Microsoft SQL Server and stored procedures
Dapper
Microsoft Azure
Azure DevOps
Git
Automated build pipelines
Agile Kanban development

We maintain a consistent monthly software release cycle while prioritizing work-life balance. Our fully remote environment is built around trust, accountability, collaboration, and connection. The team uses digital tools such as Slack and Zoom and operates within standard yet flexible working hours.

What You Will Do

Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performing full-stack solutions aligned with customer needs and mission objectives.
Develop, enhance, and support enterprise-level web applications throughout the full software development lifecycle.
Translate complex business needs into practical, reliable technical solutions.
Partner with business users and customer stakeholders to identify, analyze, and document technical requirements.
Troubleshoot complex software issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
Prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, and mentor other members of the development team.
Promote development standards and best practices that strengthen application quality, consistency, security, and performance.
Build trusted, long-term customer relationships by listening, collaborating, and consistently delivering high-quality solutions.
Contribute ideas and expertise that help Precise and our customers continuously improve.

What You Bring

At least 3 years of software development experience.
At least three years of full-stack software development experience using:

o C# Web APIs

o Vue.js, React, or another modern JavaScript framework

o Microsoft SQL Server

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative remote team.
A self-motivated, detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A commitment to quality, teamwork, customer service, and mission success.

Preferred Experience

Developing and supporting enterprise-level web applications with separated, service-oriented data-retrieval architecture.
Database development and query optimization using Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS) or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
Experience supporting DoD, federal government, or other mission-critical customers.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, business, information systems, or a related field is required.

Allowable Substitutions

One of the following may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree requirement:

An associate degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, business, information systems, or a related field, plus three additional years of overall experience and the required specialized experience; or
Eight additional years of overall experience, plus the required specialized experience.

Security and Citizenship Requirements

The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.

Bring your expertise, ideas, and drive to a team where your work matters. Join Precise and help us deliver technology that supports our customers, strengthens the mission, and makes a measurable impact.

This position is fully remote. Employees are expected to remain on camera for approximately 90% of the workday to support collaboration, communication, and team engagement.

Remote employees must maintain a professional, private, and distraction-free workspace; have reliable internet access; remain available and responsive during established working hours; attend all required virtual meetings; protect company and customer information; and comply with all company timekeeping, security, performance, and remote-work policies. Remote work is not a substitute for dependent care or elder care. Employees may also be required to report to a company or customer location based on business needs.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements.
