Job Summary:

The Instructional Designer is responsible for developing effective, accessible, and engaging training assets and curricula by applying the ADDIE methodology. Working under appropriate guidance and direction, this role leverages intermediate skills in e-learning authoring and multimedia development tools to create content and learning experiences that ensure learner comprehension. The Instructional Designer collaborates with LMS Specialists, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Global Process Owners (GPOs), and cross-functional project stakeholders - navigating project goals and deadlines with support - while continuously focusing on growing role proficiency and skillset.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Instructional Design & Content Development: Apply the ADDIE methodology, adult learning principles, and brand guidelines to design, build, and finalize scalable e-learning modules, virtual/in-person training materials, OJT Checklists, and assessment drafts (e.g., exams, task checklists).
  • Analysis & Learner Persona Mapping: Conduct basic needs analysis, review existing documentation and SOPs to identify content gaps, map out specific learner groups and current knowledge levels, and assist in identifying translation and system access requirements.
  • Stakeholder & SME Collaboration: Partner with SMEs, Global Process Owners, and Site Training Teams to gather content, capture site input, and facilitate formal reviews of initial training drafts, ensuring alignment across locations while receiving guidance on stakeholder management as needed.
  • Project Execution & Management: Manage foundational training projects from inception through launch using project tracking tools. Maintain shared document workspaces, update task statuses, and adhere to project scope, priority, and release timelines under leader oversight.
  • LMS Implementation & Communication Support: Configure initial training deployment in the LMS system. Coordinate with LMS Specialists and site coordinators to verify curriculum setup details, draft training matrix updates, and prepare rollout communications, such as slide updates and email templates. Support intake requests for LMS configurations and content updates.
  • Metrics Collection & Evaluation: Implement foundational evaluation mechanisms aligned with standard guidelines (such as Kirkpatrick Level 1 and Level 2 assessments). Collect post-course survey data, LMS assessment reports, and feedback to support continuous maintenance and content updates.

Additional Information:

  • Maintain consistent project documentation in a shared team repository.
  • Create storyboards, scripts, prototypes, self-paced e-learning modules, microlearning content, and job performance support tools.
  • Establish shared workspaces (e.g., WIP folders) to centralize project-related documents, assets, and version control.
  • Support change management activities, translation workflows, and communication slide updates for upcoming training releases.
  • Participate in recurring content reviews and update procedures when outdated training information or process revisions are identified.
  • As knowledge and proficiency increase, proactively suggest continuous improvement ideas and process optimizations to the design team.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, Human Resources, Communications, Education, or a related field.

Skills:

  • Intermediate knowledge of instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE) and adult learning principles.
  • Intermediate and growing proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360 Suite) and development platforms.
  • Foundational multimedia development skills (e.g., graphic design, basic video/audio editing).
  • Exposure to Learning Management Systems (LMS) for course deployment, curriculum configuration, and standard reporting.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and foundational project management skills with the ability to track deliverable deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with SMEs, project leaders, and site teams.
  • Basic analytical capabilities to review post-training evaluation metrics and participant feedback.
  • Growth mindset with a strong desire to develop competencies, increase independence, and adapt to evolving technologies.
  • Preferred skill: The ability to translate and validate content in Spanish, Romanian, Chinese, Thai, or Malay.
