Daytime Custodian

GENERAL The Daytime Building Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment across school facilities and grounds to support students, staff, and visitors. This role includes custodial duties, minor maintenance tasks, and event support, all contributing to a welcoming and functional school environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The following are general responsibilities. Specific assignments will be provided by the supervisor. General Custodial Duties • Clean and maintain assigned facilities and grounds to ensure a sanitary and safe environment. • Monitor work areas to address safety concerns and respond to emergency situations. • Perform lunchroom support activities, including table setup, cleanup, and garbage disposal, ensuring the space remains safe and hygienic. • Conduct minor maintenance on custodial equipment, furniture, and fixtures to ensure proper functionality. • Prepare facilities for daily operations by unlocking doors, arranging furniture, and completing other duties as needed. Grounds Maintenance • Perform general groundskeeping tasks to maintain outdoor areas. • Support snow and ice removal to ensure safe access to facilities. • Keep outdoor spaces clean and orderly. Event Support • Set up and take down equipment and furnishings for school and community events. • Maintain storage areas in a clean and organized manner. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Address immediate safety or operational concerns, taking action or notifying appropriate personnel as necessary. • Serve as a positive role model for students by promoting responsible and respectful behavior. • Ensure compliance with district policies, state and federal regulations, and OSHA standards. • Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
