Original job description

We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Seattle, Washington D.C., Raleigh, London, and Amsterdam.

The Workplace Operations team strives to create world class office spaces, environments and experiences for our employees, including creating environments that support collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a sense of connection to Plaid’s culture.

In this role you'll keep Plaid's San Francisco and Seattle offices running day to day, so the space works for the people who use it, whether they're in every day or a few days a month. That means owning the practical details: how the office is laid out and maintained, how vendors and building management are managed, how programs operate, visitors are greeted, and how health, safety and emergency readiness are planned and rehearsed. You'll also manage the office budget and the contracts behind it, and report on what the space costs and how it's used, so decisions rest on data rather than guesses.

You'll partner with the Security, IT, Legal and People teams to keep the offices in line with company policy and local regulations. You'll manage and develop a team of 3 people across SF and SEA and support their growth.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations in the SF and Seattle offices, and their various office-related projects. Ensure the offices are clean, organized, and running smooth operations for a positive employee experience
  • Lead programming in their offices for Food & Beverage, Office Health & Safety, Janitorial, Adds, Moves & Changes, Guest Services, and Employee Experience
  • Managing three direct reports across SF (2) and Seattle (1)
  • Manage all workplace vendors, confidently sourcing and onboarding new vendors as needed.
  • Work with Security, IT, Legal and People teams on health, safety, emergency preparedness and access control, and keep the records that auditors and regulators may request up to date.
  • Lead and develop 3 Workplace Ops team members by setting clear goals and delivering consistent feedback

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of facility operations experience
  • 2-3 years of people management experience
  • High expertise in workplace operations & employee experience
  • Works best in a fast changing environment, and capable of juggling multiple competing priorities and weigh priorities regularly
  • Strong communication & customer service skills

Our mission at Plaid is to unlock financial freedom for everyone. To support that mission, we seek to build a diverse team of driven individuals who care deeply about making the financial ecosystem more equitable. We recognize that strong qualifications can come from both prior work experiences and lived experiences.
