As our Staff Attorney, you'll serve as a trusted legal advisor and strategic partner to the Town Manager and departments. You'll help navigate legal challenges, protect public resources, and support initiatives that make our community a better place to live, work, and visit.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of North Carolina. Three (3) years of progressively responsible legal experience. Preferred Qualifications Five (5) years of responsible legal experience in municipal, county, state government, or public sector law. Experience with land use, zoning, local government governance, employment law, or public contracting. Special Requirements Must maintain active membership in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar. Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license. Must complete continuing legal education requirements necessary to maintain licensure.
