Coach

Purpose

The role of the Coach is to serve as a role model while focusing on the development and improvement of student-athletes in the Upper School and Middle School, and support the mission, philosophy, and operations of the Athletic Department and Pine Crest School.

Essential Job Functions

• Supports the School’s mission statement and the philosophy of the department and adheres to School policies and procedures, including but not limited to what is outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Teaches, instructs, analyzes, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, fundamentals, techniques, and strategies to student-athletes in a given sport
• Provides for a safe and secure environment as well as practices associated with the sport
• Promotes individual growth in traits such as teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship at all times
• Understands and implements all appropriate rules and regulations according to the sport guidelines
• Establishes and maintains clear policies related to captain selection, team rules, etc.
• Maintains proper control and discipline in a positive manner by establishing good, wholesome rapport through healthy, professional relationships
• Instructs student-athletes in the proper care and use of practice facilities, equipment, and uniforms
• Accompanies and supervises student-athletes during all activities associated with the sport
• Stays abreast of the latest advances in all facets of the sport
• Markets and promotes all athletic teams/programs at Pine Crest
• Supports the philosophy of the Athletic Department
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Supervisor or their designee

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience and Qualifications

Minimum 1 years’ experience in playing or coaching organized sports
