Original job description

Who are we? Founded in 2005, Pierce Washington helps clients transform their quote-to-cash process. We are creating a next-generation Total Commerce Company and will own the Total Commerce category – a fast growing segment in the tech industry. This is the place to come to if you want to work with the best, get in at the ground floor and help sustain and grow one of the best places to work. We have completed over 100 CPQ projects enabling leading enterprise companies to achieve their most complex Q2C process automation goals and transform how they do business. Who are you? Application Architects lead the technical design and implementation of complex, integrated, enterprise class applications. You will work closely with fellow team members to understand customer business requirements and build and deploy innovative online ecommerce and CPQ solutions using the latest web technologies. You are an expert in multiple technical subject areas and an invaluable resource to any project.

What you get to do:

Serve as a mentor and technical resource to Pierce Washington software engineers in the implementation of their projects.
Lead implementation of the solutions across all layers of the technology stack, including front-end DOM, CPQ application platform, webservices, HTTP protocols, network security and user authentication layers.
Translate business and technical requirements into an overall solution that is robust, scalable, and extensible.
Conduct performance tuning and diagnose/resolve obscure technical compatibility issues.
Proactively anticipate technical risks and design/implement error handling and other mitigation techniques to ensure system stability and security.
Improve best practices in terms of code architecture, unit testing, database, and technical designs available to the Pierce Washington engineering team.
Perform quality assurance on large projects, including areas of estimations, design, architecture, and coding.
Participate in and prototyping broader product designs going across modules and projects.
Suggest and implement third party libraries and software in the product.
Responsible for overall performance and scalability of delivered applications and projects.

What you bring to the role:

Experience implementing enterprise solutions supporting Quote to Cash business processes, including CPQ and eCommerce implementations.
Deep integration experience with a variety of tools and technologies, including integration to a variety of CRM and ERP systems.
Understanding of the systems development life cycle, including experience with waterfall, agile, and hybrid methodologies
Expertise in the following technologies: jQuery, HTML, XML, JavaScript, Python, XSLT, XPATH, CSS, HTTP, SOAP, JSON and relational database concepts & SQL.
Seven years of professional experience required; excellent software development skills. Previous consulting experience is a plus.
Ability to meet client travel requirements as needed.
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics from a reputable four-year university.

What we’ll do for you:

Competitive compensation package
Health, vision, dental, life & disability insurance
Flexible, collaborative work environment with a commitment to work life balance
Work anywhere, with full remote and hybrid options depending on location
Learn and challenge yourself in a fast-paced, growing tech company

More about us:

Since 2005, Pierce Washington has helped enterprises transform their quote-to-cash process in four ways: we implement CPQ, eCommerce and Billing & Subscription Management solutions and we integrate those solutions to ERP and other enterprise systems. By focusing on these four areas – and doing them well – we have built our reputation as the go-to partner for our clients. Our commitment to each client’s success is the foundation on which Pierce Washington was built. None of this success would have been possible without the synergy we have with our employees. Our commitment to each employee’s personal growth and development yet still highly valuing work/life balance, all within a culture of collaboration and teamwork, is why being a part of our team is an exciting next step in your career!
