Junior Varsity Baseball Coach

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of high school diploma
• Baseball coaching experience preferred at the high school level
• Working knowledge of baseball rules as distributed by MHSAA and coach’s guidebook
• Demonstrate strong leadership, communication/interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents
• Criminal background check including fingerprinting required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete required MHSAA certification and coursework
• Travel with athletes to matches, when necessary
• Leadership of young people in the area of athletics
• Assist with team fundraising activities
• Make appearances at community and school events such as parades, games, assemblies, volunteer opportunities, etc.
• Attend mandatory MHSAA rules meeting once a year
• Seek professional development opportunities specific to the coaching of baseball techniques and playing strategies.
• Attend preseason and post-season meetings offered by the Athletic Department.
• Must be CPR/AED certified.
