Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $20 - $20 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Cook:

• A hospital cook prepares, seasons, and cooks meals for patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to strict nutritional guidelines, therapeutic diet orders, and food safety standards
• Patient & Cafeteria Meals: Follow standardized recipes to prepare hot and cold entrees, soups, side dishes, and short-order items
• Food Safety & Sanitation: Monitor steam table and holding temperatures, record logs per health department codes, and keep kitchens clean
• Portion & Inventory Control: Use batch-cooking methods to maintain food quality, track production amounts, and rotate stock properly

Available shifts:

Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day), 2nd Shift (Evening), Weekends

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent (culinary arts degree preferred at select facilities)
• 1 to 2 years of cooking experience, with prior institutional, healthcare, or scratch-cooking background strongly preferred
• Certifications: State or local food handler training or a Food Sanitation Certificate (such as ServSafe)
• Resume needed
• Background check and drug test required
