Job Summary

Pentagon is seeking an experienced and results-driven Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize all inbound and outbound transportation activities across the facility. This role is responsible for managing the efficient movement of materials while ensuring compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations. The Logistics Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for carriers, suppliers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless execution of shipping and receiving operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of logistics processes, policies, and best practices.
• Oversee daily execution of shipping, receiving, inventory, purchasing, and production planning activities for the site.
• Serve as the primary logistics contact for internal and external customers, carriers, suppliers, and service providers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Operations, Regulatory (EHS), Accounting, suppliers, and customers to support business objectives.
• Develop standardized processes for logistics documentation, record retention, and reporting.
• Analyze logistics KPI performance and identify opportunities to reduce costs, minimize shipping errors, improve carrier selection, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Recommend and implement standardized packaging solutions that reduce material usage, shipping costs, and dimensional weight charges.
• Review freight invoices for accuracy, identify billing discrepancies, coordinate dispute resolution, and report cost adjustments to Supply Chain and Accounting teams.
• Assist in negotiating freight rates and maintaining company routing guides.
• Monitor transportation performance and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure service excellence.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, freight management, or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of domestic and international transportation regulations, freight forwarding, customs procedures, and trade compliance requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and logistics software platforms, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to develop and enforce policies, procedures, and process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and logistics analytics tools.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, Incoterms, international trade requirements, RMA processes, and carrier transportation networks.
• Professional certifications such as APICS, CLTD, CSCP, or equivalent.
