Anticipated Start Date: 9/1/2026 Anticipated Salary Range: $78,245.00 - $107,077.00 (DOE)
THE POSITION
Peninsula College is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Mobile Marine Trades Instructor to deliver high-quality marine trades instruction through the college's Mobile Training Unit (MTU) across the Olympic Peninsula. This position supports workforce development efforts by bringing industry-aligned maritime and marine technology education directly to rural and underserved communities. The instructor will teach marine trades courses in a mobile lab environment, maintain a safe and engaging learning atmosphere, support student success, and collaborate with employers and community partners to meet regional workforce needs. Instruction may occur in locations including Port Townsend, Forks, tribal communities, and other remote sites throughout Clallam and Jefferson Counties. The immediate assignment for this position is to provide marine technology instruction in Port Townsend, Washington, during the 2026-2027 academic year. While the initial appointment is expected to be a one-year teaching assignment, there is potential for continued employment through the Mobile Training Program as training opportunities expand throughout Clallam and Jefferson Counties. Future assignments may include instruction at additional mobile training sites and community-based locations based on program needs, funding availability, and regional workforce demand. As part of the development of Peninsula College's Mobile Marine Trades program, this position will play a significant role in curriculum development, program design, and the identification of equipment, tools, and instructional resources necessary to support high-quality mobile marine trades training. The instructor will help shape the future direction of the program in partnership with industry, faculty, and community stakeholders. This is a grant-funded position with funding expected to continue through October 2029.
