Eastern Time Alignment | Full-Time | Remote | Contractor What This Journey Looks Like We are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join the infrastructure operations team of a leading Canadian fintech company. This role combines hands-on Windows Server and Linux administration with technical coordination, production support, and incident troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has a strong operational background, can investigate complex infrastructure issues, coordinate maintenance activities, and support a small team of Systems Administrators. The immediate focus is on maintaining existing infrastructure, supporting daily operations, and ensuring reliable incident response, rather than designing new architectures or leading large-scale modernization projects. This is a fully remote, full-time position for candidates based in LATAM, with working hours aligned with Eastern Time. What You'll Lead and Build

• Administer, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Provide reactive infrastructure support and L2/L3-level troubleshooting, including production incident resolution.
• Support and troubleshoot VDI integrations, including connectivity, authentication, and access-related issues.
• Coordinate server patching and scheduled maintenance activities.
• Support Windows patching activities using SCCM and Linux patching using Red Hat Satellite/Capsule.
• Execute existing Ansible playbooks as part of routine infrastructure operations.
• Support SQL Server Always On operational activities and coordinate failovers with database specialists when required.
• Investigate Linux issues involving CPU, memory, disk usage, SSH, sudo permissions, and Active Directory authentication.
• Coordinate incident response calls, technical escalations, and planned infrastructure changes.
• Help organize on-call rotations and ensure effective collaboration between Systems Administrators and internal technical teams.
• Review recurring incidents and monitoring alerts, helping identify false positives and opportunities to improve operational processes.
• Support routine server builds, backups, snapshots, and other scheduled infrastructure activities.

What You Bring to the Table

• Strong hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, ideally versions 7, 8, or 9.
• Experience with server patching, infrastructure monitoring, and production support.
• Familiarity with SCCM, Red Hat Satellite/Capsule, and Ansible playbook execution.
• Understanding of SQL Server Always On operational support or database failover coordination.
• Experience troubleshooting VDI environments or integrations, such as Citrix, VMware Horizon, or Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, server access, authentication, and permissions.
• Strong L2/L3 troubleshooting, incident management, and escalation skills.
• Experience coordinating technical activities, maintenance windows, or incident response calls.
• Ability to follow established procedures, communicate clearly, and collaborate with different technical teams.
• Advanced English communication skills.
