The Comprehensive Heart Treatment Unit (CHT) is a 30-bed cardiac progressive care unit specializing in the treatment of heart failure and a broad range of medical cardiology conditions. Nurses care for patients with complex cardiovascular diagnoses requiring continuous assessment, cardiac medication management, telemetry monitoring, patient education, and coordination of care across the continuum. Team members work closely with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, rehabilitation specialists, and other multidisciplinary partners throughout the Heart Institute to deliver evidence based, patient centered care. The unit places a strong emphasis on disease management, safe transitions of care, and helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes. CHT offers nurses the opportunity to develop advanced cardiac assessment skills, deepen their understanding of cardiovascular disease management, and build meaningful relationships with patients and families while practicing in a highly collaborative environment.
