AP Computer Science Teacher/Tutor (Spring Semester)

Job Summary Our program cultivates students' natural abilities by offering small classes, individualized learning options, frequent advisement meetings, project-based learning, and interdisciplinary teaching.

We are looking for one part-time AP Computer Science Teacher/Tutor to teach our high school students an AP Computer Science Principles Review Class during our Spring semester. This teacher/tutor will be positive, confident, and energetic, and will make a lasting contribution.

Expected qualifications, knowledge, skills, and experience include:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field 2 Years of Teaching/Tutor Experience (as an HS School Teacher or Tutor) Ability to teach both APCSP and APCSA Strong content knowledge in the AP Computer Science Course and standard requirements Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and leadership skills Applicants should be comfortable interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and professional levels, ranging from parents to school administrators. Experience working with high school students Teaching credential preferred Applicants should be flexible, resourceful, and able to communicate well with students and families.

Duties and Responsibilities Create teaching strategies to engage students and encourage class participation. Present lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of AP Computer Science concepts Assist with homework Assess student performance to determine if they are learning at an acceptable level and pace. Communicate student concerns or issues to administrators.

Work Schedule Tutoring Position: The schedule will be determined by the tutors' and students' availability. Teaching Position: Spring AP Computer Science Principles Review Class, Thursdays, 4:30 to 7:30 pm, starting on 01/25/2027 to 05/07/2027
