USD 290 is seeking dedicated Bus Drivers to join our team in Ottawa, KS. This is a part-time, benefit-eligible position working less than 28 hours per week during the school year.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Transit: Operate school buses over scheduled routes and for special excursions in all weather conditions.
• Student Safety: Supervise and assist students, including those with special needs, during transport and loading/unloading.
• Maintenance: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel vehicles, and ensure the interior/exterior are clean and safe.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records regarding mileage, passenger counts, and incident reports.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Licensing: Valid CDL with S & P endorsements required.

Candidates must have a CDL license or be eligible to obtain one; CDL Training is available.

• Requirements: Prompt, in-person attendance is required.
• **Employment Screenings:**Must pass a background check, physical, drug screen, and TB test.

Physical Demands

• Requires physical exertion to move or lift objects, stooping, and kneeling.
• Must occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
