JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Project Manager leads a portfolio of concurrent operations and growth initiatives for Orthopaedic Solutions Management (OSM) and its affiliated practices, including new clinic openings, relocations, operational transformation work, and other strategic initiatives that support a growing healthcare organization.
Working within the Project Management Office (PMO), this position partners with executive sponsors, functional leaders, vendors, and practice leadership to translate organizational priorities into clear, executable plans. The Senior Project Manager builds project plans, manages scope, tracks budgets and timelines, mitigates risks, and holds stakeholders accountable through structured project management practices. This is a hands-on, in-office role that requires a strong command of healthcare operations and the practical realities of practice-based change, and it carries ownership of the portfolio's most complex and highest-visibility work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a portfolio of multiple concurrent operations and growth projects, including new clinics, relocations, and operational initiatives, from intake through execution and successful close.
- Turn strategic priorities into structured plans with clear scope, deliverables, milestones, and success measures, supported by project charters, plans, schedules, RAID logs, decision logs, and executive status reports.
- Build and foster relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external partners to support project success.
- Hold stakeholders accountable to commitments, deliverables, and deadlines.
- Lead discovery sessions to understand business needs, desired outcomes, operational constraints, and implementation requirements.
- Develop and monitor project budgets, forecasts, vendor costs, scope, schedules, and change impacts, flagging concerns early with clear options and recommendations.
- Lead change management efforts to support successful implementation and adoption of new initiatives.
- Own the identification and resolution of risks, issues, service challenges, and process improvement opportunities, escalating when necessary.
- Serve as the main point of coordination across project stakeholders, and report project status to PMO leadership, executive sponsors, and steering committees.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying best practices, sharing knowledge across teams, and enhancing project delivery processes and outcomes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Operations, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of project or program management experience, including hands-on ownership of complex operational and business change initiatives across a multi-site organization.
- Demonstrated ownership of full project lifecycles, from intake through execution and close.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across departments, vendors, senior stakeholders, and geographically distributed practice teams.
- Strong command of project management fundamentals, including scope definition, project planning, status reporting, risk and issue management, change control, budget tracking, and executive-level communication.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to hold diverse stakeholders accountable, drive decisions, and operate independently through ambiguity.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects through issues, roadblocks, and competing priorities.
- Ability to lead cross-functional workstreams while understanding operational workflows, healthcare delivery impacts, HIPAA considerations, and the realities of implementation in a practice environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in healthcare, physician practice management, a management services organization (MSO), or another multi-site environment, including leading clinic openings or operational transformation projects.
- Experience working within or alongside a formal PMO and managing vendors or implementation partners.
